REPTILIAN 3D PRINT DENIM

The Reptilian 3D Print Denim is the first piece where PrototypesParis brought a second pair of hands into the process. A 3D textile artisan produced custom-made scaled panels — then everything was sewn onto the denim by hand in the workshop. 20 to 30 hours of total work. The 3D elements are not printed onto the fabric — they're separate three-dimensional textile pieces, individually stitched into the denim surface. This technique had never been attempted before in the workshop. The result is a texture that rises off the garment, something you feel before you see. The base is a light-blue upcycled denim from salvaged stock, cut in W32/L32 with a slight flare. Exposed stitching runs along the seams. The hems are left raw — the construction is visible because it's part of the design, not a flaw to hide. The reptilian texture was not a concept chosen from a mood board. It emerged from what the 3D panels looked like once mounted on denim — scales that catch light differently at every angle. 100% upcycled denim. Handmade in the PrototypesParis workshop, Paris.
